TRANSFER MADNESS

Ronaldo's £80m move from Manchester United to Real Madrid will be a new world record once completed. Here's the current history makers:

1. Kaka, £56m from AC Milan to Real Madrid 2009
2. Zinedine Zidane, £46.7m, Juventus to Real Madrid 2001
3. Luis Figo, £37, Barca to Real 2000
4. Hernan Crespo, £35.7m Parma to Lazio 2000
5. Robinho, £32.5m, Real Madrid to Man City 2008

These transfers represent a serious challenge to the idea of fair play and the concept of financial balance in the league all over the world. Soon, they'll be only a few elite clubs playing because others cannot compete due to financial constraints. The small one will be left struggling with their loyal supporters. Nothing much can be said, its a free market...willing buyer, willing seller.

When can we see our national player, be in the same league and command the same figure..too big question mark!!

Only time will tell...
